The Ambucopter first began in Lincolnshire in 1994. It is based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln.
It is able to get to scenes of accidents very quickly to provide medical support for the Police and Fire Service and able to get patients to hospital without delay which often saves lives. It can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in 19 minutes.
