Abuse

There are many different forms of abuse:

  • It could be hitting you or hurting you physically in some way.
  • It could be making you do something of a sexual nature or touching in a place that makes you feel frightened or scared or making you look at things which upset you.
  • It may be saying things constantly which make you feel very upset and depressed or it could be that you are left alone to look after yourself or maybe not  given enough food to eat and are left to go hungry.

If anything like this is happening to you, then you must first remember that you are not on your own and there are people who you can talk to and want to help you make it stop.

Abuse is not your fault and we understand how scared or ashamed you may be of telling someone. You may have even been threatened that bad things will happen if you tell anyone.

What you have to do though is be brave and take the first step in making it stop and speak with someone. If you can’t speak to someone you know and trust there are other places to go for help.
