Gainsborough Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team’s Community Beat Manager, Pc Martin Yeates, is involved in a multi-agency event that will aim to give Year 9 pupils at the Trent Valley Academy an insight into life as a prisoner - and equip them with the advice and skills to help ensure they never have to experience it ‘for real’. The ‘Prison me? No way!’ (PMNW) workshop will take place on Tuesday (March 16) from 8.30am until approximately 2.45pm. It involves, amongst other partners, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, who have played a part in the event’s funding.
In giving youngsters a taste of prison life, it is hoped they will be deterred from getting involved in any type of crime in the future. It is hoped if successful PMNW workshops will become a regular feature in the area. More information is available on-line at http://www.pmnw.co.uk
