30/12/2011 - Fatal Road Collision, B1225, South Willingham

Incident 56 of 30th December 2011

 
At just before 6am on Friday 30th December, police were called to a collision which had occurred on the B1225, High Street, South Willingham.  A silver Citroen car had left the road and collided with a tree.  Paramedics attended and the male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The B1225 has been closed at the junction with the A157 and local diversions are in place.
 
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicle being driven before it occurred to contact them on the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855. 
 
This makes a total of 47 fatalities on Lincolnshire's roads this year to date, as compared to 45 at the same time last year.
