Police were called to an address in St Botolph’s Crescent, Lincoln, at 6.13am this morning after a report that a 72-year-old woman had been assaulted in a house in the road.
Officers attended the scene and the woman was taken to Lincoln County Hospital where she is said to be in a serious condition.
A 38-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident a short time later. He is currently helping police with their enquiries.
