Enhanced CCTV Appeal - Castle Bytham Arson

Police have released digitally enhanced CCTV footage in relation to this case in the hope that people with come forward with information on the offender.

Last week officers working on the case re-appealed for information on the Castle Bytham arson attack, on the one-year anniversary of the crime, which took place in High Street, Castle Bytham, just before 3am on Wednesday 4th May last year.

Thankfully, the 82-year-old man and 74-year-old woman who were living in the property at the time escaped, but they could easily have been killed by the blaze.

DS Jon Shield said: “The original images were of very poor quality. We know that these ones are still limited in terms of not being able to see the face of the suspect, but you can make out a lot more detail on the mask and the rucksack worn.

“We want people to study them closely and come forward if they thing they know anything about the offender, or the mask and where it might have been sold at the time.”
