Students in the city are being urged to lock their doors and windows when they are out after a number of burglaries.
Overnight on May 18/19 a thief got into a house in Monks Road, Lincoln, through an unlocked door and stole a TV and an Ipod from the living room.
A similar incident took place in the same road between 10.15pm on May 17 and 2pm the following day. The offender got in through an unlocked back door and stole a HP laptop.
Both of these properties were multi-occupancy student houses and the police are urging people in shared houses to be aware of their security and to make sure that everyone living their takes responsibility for it. Criminals are on the lookout for opportunities like this and may be targeting shared houses.
