Police are appealing for information after three cycles were stolen from a garden in Newmarket, Louth, between 6pm on Saturday 28 July and 12 noon the following day.
One of the bikes was particularly distinctive as it is marked in Landrover livery with a very expensive saddle. The other bikes are a black Appollo and a red and black Vibe Ignite BMX.
Sgt Alasdair Booth, from the Wolds Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, "Residents mustn't assume that cycles are secure when in a garden as, unfortunately, opportunist thieves will be quite bold and will enter through garden gates in order to steal. Use good quality bike locks whenever cycles are left unattended and ensure that shed and garage security is as good as it can be".
Anyone who would like to find out more about home and garden security, or who is interested in having their bike security marked, should contact their local Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101.
