26/01/2012 - Vehicle Crime Warning - Scottish Estate, Stamford

Incident 399 of January 25, 2011

Police are warning workers in the Stamford area after an attempted theft from a van.

Officers are warning workmen not to keep valuable tools in their vans overnight after an attempted theft from a white Ducato panel van in Stirling Road, Stamford.

This is a sporadic crime trend on the Scottish Estate and although nothing was stolen this time, officers are warning van owners to be vigilant, to make sure their vehicles are locked and if possible, to remove valuable tools overnight. In the past there have also been spates of opportunistic daytime thefts from work vans in the area so owners are also being urged to lock their vehicles while they are working at properties.
