Police have confirmed that they are treating the death of a man recovered from the river in Boston on Thursday as suspicious and have launched a murder enquiry.

The dead man is believed to be a Polish national and enquiries are continue to confirm his identity and trace his relatives and next of kin.

We are unable to confirm a cause of death at this stage.

No officers are available for interview this afternoon.

The body of a unidentified male has been recovered from the water and a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course. The death is currently being treated as unexplained. The road closure at the scene has now been lifted.

At 12.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday), Police received a report of a body in the river in the Wyberton West Road/Lynley Drive area of Boston.

An Underwater Search Tean is en route to the location to assist in the recovery of the body and an investigation has been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. The identity of the person is not known.
