Minor Injury Collision - A46 Swinderby - Incident 259 of 30 March 2010

The A46 at Swinderby was closed from about 1445 until 2250 yesterday following a collision between a DAF articulated lorry and a JCB digger.  The local man who was driving the digger was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for treatment to minor injuries and the driver of the DAF was not reported injured.  The artic' crashed through the central barrier and the road was blocked. There was diesel spillage and damage to the road which Highways dealt with before declaring it safe to re-open the road.

Sudden Death - Trent View, Lincoln – Incident 434 of 28 March 2010

At just after 11pm on Sunday 28 March 2010, police received a report of a man falling from a balcony of a flat at Trent View, Lincoln. Police and paramedics attended and a 34 year old man was taken to Lincoln County Hospital, but was pronounced dead soon after arrival.An investigation was commenced into the circumstances surrounding his death and two people who were present in the flat were interviewed by police. A post mortem has been carried out, but the result is not available at this time. Police are continuing with their enquiries.

Attempted Burglary - Budgens Store, Bar Lane, Waddington - Incident 41 of 30 March 2010

At just around 5.30am on Tuesday 30 March, an alarm went off at the Budgens Store in Bar Lane, Waddington.  Police attended and discovered that an attempt had been made to attack the ATM machine.  Several unsuccessful attempts had been made to gain entry to the store.  The offenders also attacked the CCTV and lights outside the store.  Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area during the early morning of Tuesday 30 March is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 0300 111 0300 quoting incident 41 of 30 March 2010.  Alternatively, call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. 

Lincolnshire Police Appeal - Missing Person - Leah Lloyd

Police in Lincolnshire are appealing for information about Leah Lloyd, who has been missing since Tuesday 23 March 2010. Leah left Healthlinc House in Welton, Lincolnshire on 23 March and bought a train ticket on the same day.  It is believed that she travelled to Hull and at about 7pm used an ATM machine near the Odeon Cinema in Hull.  She is 20 years old and 5’6” and stocky build.  She has shoulder length black hair with a blonde streak at the front.  When she left she was wearing dark blue jeans, a grey and orange hooded top, a black coat and black trainers with a pink trim.  Leah has a number of health issues and police are concerned for her welfare and believe that she may not be taking her medication. Information indicates that she could be in the Eastfield area, near Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Anyone who has seen Leah, or who has information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 0300 111 0300 quoting incident number 243 of 23 March 2010.  Please also quote the Personal ID (PID) reference number 1716.

Lincolnshire Police New One Stop Shop Website for Students

P.C. Rick Mosley, the Community Beat Manager for the Carholme Ward of Lincoln, which includes the University of Lincoln, has recently with the assistance of the University of Lincoln Student Union and MComp Web Technology student Amy Guy, set up a new web site targeting all students within Lincoln.  This includes those at the University of Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste and Lincoln College.  The site is designed to be student friendly, factual but in a clear language, offering personal safety and security advice, with a current news section, crime reporting advice, links to related websites and contact details.  P.C. Mosley says, "I wanted to design a 'one stop shop' for all students in Lincoln where they could get the information they need in a suitable format".  "I felt that it was important the website had to be bright and catchy, in a clear and uncluttered language". I have taken the design of the site with kind permission from Sgt Emma Thompson of West Midlands Police".  "Emma is the Chairperson of the Police Association of Higher Education Liaison Officers, which is a group of police officers and staff who have the responsibility of policing universities around the UK".  P.C. Criminal Damage to Motor Vehicle - Church Street, Louth - Incident 34 of 29 March 2010

Some time between 00.00hrs and 05.20hrs on Monday 29 March, a Vauxhall Astra parked in a car park in Church Street Louth was damaged.  A liquid which caused the paint to come off was poured over the vehicle.  Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in Church Street during this period, or who has information about this incident, is asked to contact P.C. 513 Paul French at Louth police Station on 0300 111 0300.

Theft From Motor Vehicle - Charles Street, Louth - Incident 59 Of 24 March 2010

This incident occurred some time overnight between Tuesday 23 March and Wednesday 24 March.  A wiper blade was ripped off a Vauxhall Zafira parked near the allotments in Charles Street, Louth.  Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area overnight is asked to contact P.C. 697 Jonathan Best at Louth Police Station on 0300 111 0300.
