GENERAL AND MISCELLANEOUS
Please Note - New Staffing And Media Briefing Arrangements From Lincolnshire Police From Next Week
The week-daily e-mail from the Lincolnshire Police HQ Press Office and the individual divisional communications officers will not be sent after 6th August 2010.
Details of all incidents will be placed directly on to the News Centre pages of our web site throughout each day as we get to hear of them and will continue to be updated as they develop. This will in effect be a 'viewable' Voicebank. We will continue to use the Voicebank system for negative returns and updating any incidents of note. This will now be backed up with a written version in the website News Centre - for full details about the News Centre please see below.
The current e-mail briefing is circulated to 161 addresses which have requested to receive it. Even if only half those recipients called our office only once a day, you can perhaps imagine how busy the phones are, especially when a newsworthy incident is running!
These new arrangements are aimed at making optimum use of our resources, improving our efficiency, providing an equable service to all those interested and providing you with a spontaneous briefing service and a quick and efficient way of checking current incidents.
The team in the HQ press office constantly keep track of incidents being called into the Force via the Force Command and Control Room. When incidents are significant enough for release they will be uploaded to our news centre and updated as they develop as well as being recorded on to the Voicebank. Anything we assess as of public and/or media interest will be shown on the News Centre and/or Voicebank. Because of this, the press office will treat as low priority any speculative or random calls relating to emergency service sirens and similar.
PLEASE NOTE - THE NEW SYSTEM WILL RUN ALONGSIDE THE OLD SYSTEM FOR A TRANSITION PERIOD BETWEEN 2ND AND 6TH AUGUST
