Crimestoppers is targeting young people with their website against knife crime.The charity aims to raise awareness of and ultimately reduce knife crime, by and against young people in the UK.
The site contains 'Knife Drop' - a fun viral game; the aim is to catch the knives and put them in the right boxes to get knives off the streets.
The website also tells the story of a young person that becomes a victim of knife crime. It show someone calling Crimestoppers anonymously, to pass on information, which is used by the police to arrest the perpretrators.
There is also knife law information and resources. Aimed at teachers and youth workers, this can be downloaded from the site with discussions about why young people carry knives, legal facts and figures and information about knives and first aid.
Although not widespread throughout the UK - crimes involving knives or blades are a serious problem particularly in many of Britain's urban communities.
