The Lincolnshire Farm and Country Business Watch Scheme is designed to encourage people who live and work in the countryside to be vigilant, share their knowledge and reduce opportunities for crime and vandalism by reporting anything suspicious to the police.
The scheme was launched in 2005 and now has a membership of over 1,300 with new members being recruited regularly through contact with Force Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPT’s), Lincolnshire Police Wildlife Crime Officer, the NFU East Midlands Region, Country Land & Business Association, (CLA) and Lincolnshire Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Arson Task Force, Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue.
Farm and Country Business Watch members are registered on the Watchline system, a digital messaging system, allowing all neighbourhood policing teams to send messages direct to members throughout the county. The messages will inform members of activities of a criminal nature and those of general interest to the community to assist in crime reduction.
