About Volunteers


Lincolnshire Police offers opportunities for volunteers to enhance the work of the police and provide additional support in the areas where the volunteer lives or works.

What is a volunteer?

A volunteer is defined as 'an individual with no police powers who, through personal choice, gives time and energy to perform tasks for Lincolnshire Police, without expectation or receipt of compensation, except for reimbursement of agreed out of pocket expenses'.

What do volunteers do?

There are many roles in which volunteers could assist Lincolnshire Police. Here are a few examples:

  • Assisting on the front counter of police stations
  • General office support
  • Monitoring CCTV
  • Helping with community safety initiatives
  • Providing administrative support to Neighbourhood Policing Teams

The role of a volunteer is designed to enhance the work of the police and provide additional support in the areas where the volunteer lives or work.

Who can apply?

Anyone over the age of 16 can apply to volunteer with Lincolnshire Police, there is no upper age limit.

What hours will I have to work?

The amount of time given is dependent on the individual volunteer, and will be agreed during the application process.
