Operations Support and Protective Services
The Operations Support department is led by Chief Superintendent Russ Hardy and Superintendent Maria Staniland. This department provides force-wide functions and the force’s resilience and capability to provide certain aspects of our protective services.

The Firearms Training Team is based at Police Headquarters within the Operations Support Unit.

Operations Support Unit officers are available for deployment force-wide on operations, searches, policing of events, and all aspects of police work where an additional or specialist police presence is required.

The Roads Policing Unit (RPU) is made up of 66 officers, comprised of dedicated Sergeants and P.C.s. The four RPU Groups operate out of Lincoln, Grantham, Louth and Boston. All RPU officers are Advanced Drivers and Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs).

The Underwater Search Unit provides a search capability rather than a rescue response and can operate in inland waterways as well as coastal (up to 1 mile off-shore).
