Alec Wood

Deputy Chief Constable Alec WoodFormer Lincolnshire officer Alec Wood has returned to the Force as Deputy Chief Constable after moving to Derbyshire as Assistant Chief Constable in August 2010. Alec had joined Lincolnshire Police in 1986 serving in both uniform and CID roles. He was a senior investigating officer for a number of years and also the Head of Crime. During which he oversaw a number of complex murder and serious crime investigations.

As a Chief Superintendent Alec was Divisional Commander at both the East (Skegness) and West (Lincoln) Divisions, and in 2009 was appointed as Temporary Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) responsible for Protective Services. He attended the Strategic Command Course at Bramshill in 2010, and following this course was appointed ACC (Operations) in Derbyshire.

Alec is the ACPO lead for Behavioural Science and for Partnership Working. He has an MA in Criminology.
